Most of the major automakers are now manufacturing gas-electric hybrids but all of them have 2 major flaws. These 2 flaws intentionally keep the price up and the demand down. The flaws are endurance and price.
All of the gas electric hybrids produced today still rely on huge amounts of gasoline to go any distance. The vehicle is still primarily powered by gasoline. They are still manufactured having big gasoline fuel tanks that immediately adds weight to the vehicle which immediately puts a greater stress on the electric part of the vehicle. As the weight increases so does the power demand to move all that unnecessarily added weight.
In order to make gas electric hybrids more fuel efficient the manufacturers have to reverse the concept – from gas-electric to electric-gas. They have to make the electric motor the dominating feature of the vehicle. They have to decrease the size of the gas combustion engine. Once you reduce the size of the gas combustion engine you don’t need a big gasoline fuel tank. Immediately fuel consumption is reduced.
To make gas electric hybrids more efficient you would have to drastically reduce the size of the gasoline engine – to the size of a high endurance/mpg portable gas generator, and have the portable gas generator generate electrical energy for the electric motor. Portable gas generator are very fuel efficient. Some can produce enough energy to power an electric car’s electric motor for hours on 1 gallon of gasoline and the electric car can travel speeds in excess of 60 mph for hours.
In order to produce a better fuel efficient gas-electric hybrid the manufacturer only needs to remove the big heavy gasoline engine and replace it with a portable gas generator. To generate enough power to run that electric motor one would only need a 2 gallon gasoline fuel tank. A small portable gas generator can run for hours, up to 8 hours, using just 2 gallons of fuel. Adding an alternator, a capacitor, resistors, and diodes is all that is needed to generate more than enough electrical power to run an electric car motor for hours. If you apply gas vaporizing technology to the factory installed portable gas generator then the amount of time you can travel before having to add another 2 gallons of gasoline fuel will also increase – perhaps even double the endurance.
The second intentional flaw of all currently made gas-electric hybrid is the price. The auto manufacturers have intentionally overpriced their gas-electric vehicles – to force us to buy their cheaper strictly gasoline powered vehicles. These days the majority of people in the U.S. Canada, Europe and elsewhere around the World are on a tight budget. The automakers know that with tough economic times we will always choose what we can afford. With high mortgage payments, rising food costs, rising health care costs, and a much higher cost of living you and I are forced to buy the cheaper gasoline powered vehicles. A portable gas generator can and will drastically lower the price of both electric vehicles and gas-electric hybrid vehicles. It reduces the weight of the vehicle plus it reduces the need for very expensive fuel cells which reduces the cost of manufacturing. Lower manufacturing costs means auto industry can sell their vehicles to you for a much lower price.
