International Criminal Court double standards protects US war criminals.

The following is a letter sent by the editor of presscore.ca to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in regards to the ICC’s discriminating and bias set of principles that applies differently and usually more rigorously to one group of people (the innocent victims of US aggression) or circumstances than to another; especially in regards to the commission of crimes against peace, crimes against humanity, war crimes, torture and genocide – all committed by the US governments of; George HW Bush, Bill and Hillary Clinton, George W Bush Bush and Barack Hussein Obama.

ICC double standards

I’ve been researching and reporting on the U.S. / NATO wars of aggression against Afghanistan and Iraq since 2001 and I’ve noticed a very unfair practice of the ICC.  You have a very open policy of double standards when it comes to making it public that you are launching a probe against a leader of one country who according to Roman Statue is in violation of International law yet the leaders of the country that are truly in violation of those same laws get a pass from the ICC.  Today for example your prosecutor announced that you are launching a probe against Libya’s Gaddafi for war crimes yet for years the United States presidents George W Bush and Barack Obama have been committing exactly the same crimes.  There has been no opposing military forces in Afghanistan and yet the U.S. Canadian and NATO country leaders ordered their troops to attack and kill civilians.  The Taliban were the ruling party of the Afghan people, civilians just like the Afghan people and yet the U.S. troops’ number one order is to wipe them out.  According to International Law that is genocide.

Article 6: Genocide

For the purpose of this Statute, “genocide” means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group,

Even Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has been accused of war crimes in regards to his complicity in the torture of Afghan detainees transferred from Canadian troops custody to Afghan security forces who are obviously recruited by, trained by, paid by and controlled by the United States.  The Canadian Military Commission Inquiry into these accusations by other Canadian diplomats and the International Red Cross where shut down by Prime Minister Harper as was a Parliamentary Inquiry.  Harper covered up the allegations of war crimes by proroguing Parliament.  The Canadian people tried to make Harper and Defense Minister Peter MacKay accountable for their actions but Harper spared no effort to cover up his crimes – war crimes.

According to the ICC Roman Statue it is a Crime Against Humanity even to have knowledge of the attack.  Harper knew Afghan detainees were being handed over to the Afghan security forces to be tortured.  The Canadian Military Commission Inquiry had called numerous witnesses who had evidence of this fact and even evidence that Harper and MacKay actually transfered prisoners to be tortured.  A Parliamentary hearing that Harper shut down through  proroguing of Parliament would have brought the evidence of their crimes into the public domain

Article 7: Crimes against humanity

1.         For the purpose of this Statute, “crime against humanity” means any of the following acts when committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, with knowledge of the attack:

(d)     Deportation or forcible transfer of population;

(e)     Imprisonment or other severe deprivation of physical liberty in violation of fundamental rules of international law;

(f)     Torture;

(h)     Persecution against any identifiable group or collectivity on political, racial, national, ethnic, cultural, religious, gender as defined in paragraph 3, or other grounds that are universally recognized as impermissible under international law, in connection with any act referred to in this paragraph or any crime within the jurisdiction of the Court;

Need I remind the ICC that Afghanistan and its Taliban ruling party had no part in the attacks on U.S. soil on September 11, 2001.  The majority of hijackers were Saudi as was bin Laden.  So why is the ICC sitting on your hands in regards to their war crimes.  The U.S. attack against Afghanistan and the daily targeting and killing of Afghan civilians are war crimes, crimes against humanity and crimes against peace.  Over 1 million civilians were killed by U.S. troops in Iraq alone all after George W Bush declared “Mission Accomplished”.

Need I remind you that there are no Afghan military forces opposing the U.S. war of aggression and occupation against Afghanistan and the Afghan “civilian” population.  Every day the U.S. president and the Canadian Prime Prime Minister orders their troops to attack targets within Afghanistan, the president and prime minister are committing war crimes, crimes against humanity, as civilians are always the victims.  Compare how many people who have been killed by Gaddafi in the civil war that is raging in Libya to the number of civilians who have been killed by Bush, Obama, and Harper in Afghanistan.  The Afghan civilian population are made victims of the U.S., NATO and Canadian war of aggression, war crimes, and torture on a daily bases for almost 10 years now and yet you and the ICC have not uttered a word.

If I, one person, can easily find evidence of war crimes being committed by the U.S., by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and by NATO countries, then so have you.  Just read what I’ve collected and published on the presscore.ca website.  Even circumstantial evidence can be used to try someone for war crimes.  The evidence that I’ve uncovered and published for my 5 million + readers to see, isn’t hearsay or conjecture.  I can’t be the only one who can see what is going on.  I can’t be the only one who can see that the rule of law is being grossly violated by the U.S., Canada and other NATO countries.

According to the ICC Roman Statue crimes have been and continue to be committed by the United States government against the Afghan people, against the Pakistani people, against the Iraqi people and soon to be against the Libyan people.  The crimes of the United States government far out number the crimes committed by any Libyan leader, by any Palestinian leader, by any Taliban Afghan political party and resistance group, by any Darfur leader – combined.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Article 1.

* All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

Article 2.

* Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.

Article 3.

* Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.

Article 4.

* No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms.

Article 5.

* No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

Article 6.

* Everyone has the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law.

Article 7.

* All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination.

It is your duty to take action against all who have violated the law.  Every person is treated as equals under the law.  Any action, including public declarations or announcements through the media must be applied equally or not at all.  According to your Statue the ICC cannot discriminate.  You are, however, discriminating and bias when you single out one person and give a pass to another who you know has committed much greater and graver crimes against mankind.

Evidence of war crimes, crimes against humanity

It is a serious crime to launch attacks directed against civilian populations, or non-combatants.  Evidence of these serious crimes are revealed in news reports every day.  The ICC hasn’t said a word about these serious violations of the laws and customs by the United States and NATO forces.  Violations that have been made public and that spans 10 years.

May 5, 2009 CBS News World reported – Afghanistan: U.S.-Led Strikes Kill Dozens – “officials estimated the civilian toll to be between 70 and 100.”
September 8, 2008 The Times reported – Harrowing video film backs Afghan villagers’ claims of carnage caused by US troops ~ “92 were killed, including as many as 60 children”
September 18, 2010 The Washington Post reported – Members of Stryker Combat Brigade in Afghanistan accused of killing civilians for sport
December 1 2001 Guardian reported – Fatal errors that led to massacre – 175 prisoners held at Marzar-e-Sharif were slaughtered.  Those who survived, 7,500 were loaded onto containers for transport to Sheberghan prison, a journey that took several days. A 2002 documentary named Afghan Massacre: The Convoy of Death (YouTube video link) by Jamie Doran produced testimony from eyewitnesses alleging hundreds or even thousands of prisoners had died, either during transport in the containers or being shot and dumped in the Dasht-i-Leili desert after arriving at hopelessly overcrowded Sheberghan prison.
