Majority of World population opposes US war of aggression against Libya
Latest news, World news Sunday, March 20th, 2011India, China, Russia, Germany and Brazil abstained from voting on the UN resolution to approve a no-fly zone and US/French lead armed attacks against the sovereign state of Libya . Those countries hold the majority of the World population. China has 1.341 billion people. India has 1.195 billion people. Russia has 141 million people. Germany has 81 million and Brazil has 190 million. The 2 most populated countries in the World have declared that the UN backed war of aggression against Libya (pop. 6.5 million) is unacceptable – an unlawful use of force against the territorial integrity and political independence of Libya.
Even though ten members of the 15-member United Nations Security Council voted in favour of the resolution the World’s super majority opposed it.
“This resolution calls for far-reaching measures, but we never got answers to very basic questions,” the Daily Mail quoted India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Hardeep Singh Puri, as saying.
Puri added: “This entire exercise has been based on less than complete information.”
Chinese envoy Li Baodong said: “Many of those questions failed to be clarified or answered.”
Russian envoy Vitaly Churkin said: “Outside force could destabilise the Middle East and North African region and described the resolution as unfortunate and regrettable.”
US president Barack Obama’s claim that the Internationally community is behind a military intervention in Libya is totally false. The majority opposes these unlawful military attacks against Libya. The modern day superpowers, China, India and Russia all oppose this obvious war of aggression by the US against Libya. China, India and Russia all know International law and they know that the UN is in gross violation of its own Charter for allowing the US, the UK, France and Canada to launch armed attacks against a country that is engulfed in a purely domestic crisis. The UN Charter is clear: “All Members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United Nations.” “Nothing contained in the present Charter shall authorize the United Nations to intervene in matters which are essentially within the domestic jurisdiction of any state“.
