Method for generating higher voltages from solar panels

Solar inductor panel design by Paul W Kincaid

An easy way to generate a higher voltage from a low voltage DC source (solar panel) is with an inductor. An inductor, also called a coil is a passive two-terminal electrical component that stores energy in a magnetic field when electric current flows through it. Depending on the number of turns of wire in the coil a low voltage power source could produce a much higher voltages from a simple coil of wire. Connecting the coils in series will also increase the voltage.
